Premonitions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t think our end will
be particularly loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even a cough is enough
to make the roof of this home<\/p>\n\n\n\n

without hesitation,
collapse. So.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I fix you up,
as bad as I can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But you don\u2019t stay broken,
the only way I can<\/p>\n\n\n\n

love you. Like a bird in the dirt,
with his belly up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end, all the doors
are opened again. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the both of us,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

stepping backwards and
alone <\/p>\n\n\n\n

through each one,
are not scared when they<\/p>\n\n\n\n

close behind separate rooms\u2014 <\/p>\n\n\n\n


First Love<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You appear in the dream
like a knife\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

descending slowly &
somehow holding <\/p>\n\n\n\n

quietness at
your shoulders <\/p>\n\n\n\n

(on the outside,
lightness is already
a blanket) but <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I come to you
quietness & all<\/p>\n\n\n\n

nine years later a
face\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

nine years of
your silent hands,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

of satellites, water
on rooftops,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

rain dripping all over
the white floors
of it <\/p>\n\n\n\n

& then:
morning \u2003<\/p>\n\n\n\n


The Reappearance<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Woke me up
in the middle of<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the dream
about looking <\/p>\n\n\n\n

for
water in a dark garden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You, whose name<\/p>\n\n\n\n

cannot sit still
in a sentence,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

already feels written
on the back of my hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like needing to
to violently<\/p>\n\n\n\n

slam the door
shut,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

but stay
behind<\/p>\n\n\n\n

in the room with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Vows<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I didn\u2019t speak a single word: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

simply freed
a ribbon <\/p>\n\n\n\n

tied from me
to the others,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

sweetly, but forever\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I took back every gift I
had ever given<\/p>\n\n\n\n

without anyone noticing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And you, looking so
honorable<\/p>\n\n\n\n

standing beside<\/p>\n\n\n\n

all of the remains
I have dragged <\/p>\n\n\n\n

inside our home,
