He is a poet, novelist, and short-story writer.  <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:23px\"><br>Stretch<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was stripped.<br>The receptionist took my name, my birth-date, my history, my living, <br>and the stretcher\u2014my body\u2014<br>and I laid down as a nobody, and was <br>allowed to only keep my eyes\u2014and stared <br>at nothing but the florescent lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Limb per limb\u2014the attempt was there\u2014that my organs <br>be stolen by these bare hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My hamstring on its thread\u2014his hand pressed down on my head\u2014<br>and ripples of cracks around my neck and felt like a snap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He tied me down\u2014with a belt as similar to a car seat\u2014taking me<br>for a ride\u2014pulled back the muscles and the cranium of my head\u2014<br>as if he was looking for the most tender place to electrocute\u2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018How does that feel?\u2019<br>\u2018Where do you feel it?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I lied and I liked.<br>It was all strenuous and teeth clenching, and not <br>once did my eyes blink\u2014for it was all I had. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Currently living in New York, Edis Rune was born in Kosovo and is of Montenegrin descent.
