What is this sound
That breaks me
But I listen still
Inside my wrists
Can it be forgotten
Like the slamming door
On my last breath
Or do I succumb
To its trickery<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is it lost
\nWithout end
\nOr without death
\nDo I train my ear
\nTo read the spell
\nOr lay my hand in the sky
\nAnd listen like braille<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Even pain has a sound
\nThough it shakes
\nTurns on its own kind
\nDeep and shuttering
\nAnd worn like a dog<\/p>\n\n\n\n
When I was young
\nI had depth of purpose
\nNow my hands are stiff tired
\nNo tuning to my bones
\nI can\u2019t reach the octave
\nFingers twist
\nDarkness reverberates<\/p>\n\n\n\n
