When not writing, he can be found asleep in his bed.<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Starlight<\/h3>\n<p>I\u2019m not a very observant person \u2013<br \/>\nI can\u2019t, for example, tell you<br \/>\nwhat the stars looked like<br \/>\non any given night,<br \/>\nor what you were wearing<br \/>\nthe last time I saw you.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, I just imagine<br \/>\nus laughing in the moonlight,<br \/>\nin some empty field,<br \/>\nafter driving hours and hours<br \/>\nto find the perfect spot<\/p>\n<p>which, to me, will look like any other spot<br \/>\nof a picture I never took,<br \/>\nbut I\u2019ll try anyway, to capture<br \/>\nyou and the trees and the stars.<\/p>\n<p>So please forgive me for staring<br \/>\nat your hands in the parking lot of your college dorm,<br \/>\nor at your dress that I think was blue, but can\u2019t remember,<br \/>\nor, if we\u2019re being honest, at your lips<br \/>\nshining just a little in the night air<\/p>\n<p>like starlight bending around the tops of the nearest trees<br \/>\njust far enough away to touch.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Travis Schuhardt resides in Freehold, New Jersey and currently attends NYU&#8217;s Gallatin School of Individualized Study, where he is pursuing a concentration in literature and poetry.
