slept on the bed

At my nose
and I pulled away

into the pillow of
my boyfriend\u2019s
freshly made bed<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As you sat
on the couch
in my living room<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I moved my lips
towards yours
while you<\/p>\n\n\n\n
slowly tried
to reciprocate
and fell<\/p>\n\n\n\n
into the light of
new love\u2019s
burning sun<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the dentist
scraped my teeth
with a smile<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Glimmering pearls
whiter than mine
he said<\/p>\n\n\n\n
to brush the front
then the back

will be as bright
and happy

Janelle Finamore is a musician, poet, teacher, and fairy tale writer located in Orange County, CA. She was Poet of the Month for Moon Tide Press and her fairy tale \u201cThe Girl Who Stuck Out Like a Sore Thumb\u201d was published in Bohemia magazine. Her poem \u201cSpace Shop\u201d was also published. Her poems were also featured in Poet Magazine online and the Academy of the Heart and Mind.
