The clothes will never fit again and never<br \/>\nmattered anyway. The lotion, toner, exfoliant\u2014mascara,<br \/>\nhigh heels, three kinds of scent. My grandmother\u2019s things<br \/>\nwould be hardest: rhinestone belt, scorpion brooch and way I<br \/>\nfelt. Chester, that absurd stuffed bird\u2014I would want him, feel<br \/>\nhis loss as sign of every hole and haunt. No blue jay \u2014yolk yellow,<br \/>\nmatted, orange feet smudged to gray<\/p>\n<p>Oh fire.
