Her poetry has been published in the anthology Stories That Need to Be Told, Crosswinds Poetry Journal, Runcible Spoon, Ghost City Review, and is forthcoming in the I Am Strength anthology.<\/em><\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Your Word<\/h3>\n<p>I want to curl up<br \/>\nin your words<br \/>\nlike a cat on a book,<br \/>\nplaying with them a bit<br \/>\nbefore savoring them.<\/p>\n<p>Words.<br \/>\nWhat are they?<br \/>\nLetters on a page,<br \/>\nsounds jumbled together<br \/>\ncatapulting from mouths.<\/p>\n<p>I wonder what will<br \/>\nmake the words taste good,<br \/>\nand decide it\u2019s the vowels<br \/>\nthat are sweeter in the mouth.<\/p>\n<p>Words.<br \/>\nI shall have them for dinner<br \/>\nwith cloth napkins<br \/>\nand fine silver,<br \/>\nrespecting their diligence.<\/p>\n<p>I will swallow and digest<br \/>\nyour desire to give me words\u2014<br \/>\nwhile I wish to give you myself.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lisa Poff is a single mom of two children\u2014one with a rare medically complex condition.
