Couldn\u2019t stay clean for even a week.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mara stepped toward\nthe table, \u201cMom, get up.\u201d She shook her mother, then took her cold hand. \u201cMom?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her mother\u2019s ghost\nsat next to her body. \u201cI was so unhappy, you had to understand,\u201d the ghost said.\nMara couldn\u2019t hear her.
