This steel horse is wild and free.
And I ride it
into the wind.
Fearless
of being thrown,
a rodeo rider
a bronco- buster.
Another ordinary day
on the ranch for me.
Later I’ll have cattle to herd
and beans to cook
over an open fire.
My sleeping bag on the ground.
Count the stars before I fall asleep.
Tomorrow,
my steed will be
a red mustang
on four wheels.
